COACH HOUSE - “BEST PLACE TO KEEP IT REAL IN SCOTTSDALE”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Thanks New Times readers! Click here for the whole story.

“...the Coach House is one of the most unpretentious places in a city known for being more champagne than PBR.”

“Whether you ride a hog or a horse... you're always welcome at the Coach House.”

“...if you've never been here during the holiday season, you're missing out.”

SCOTTSDALE HIGH SCHOOL REUNION AT COACH HOUSE KICKS OFF “THE SEASON”

Cooler temperatures signal return of celebrations in Old Town Scottsdale

Scottsdale High School opened in 1922 and closed in May 1983. The mascot was the Beavers, and the colors were orange and black. The school site was demolished, and condominiums were put up on the land.

Your friends at the Coach House invite graduates of Scottsdale High School to celebrate the memory of the school that was once the hub of Old Town Scottsdale as we kick off the start to the unofficial “season” here in The Valley of The Sun.

The Class of ’75 will host their reunion on Saturday, November 5th. An All-Class Reunion will be hosted on Sunday, November 6th. Of course, the classless are always welcome.

8TH ANNUAL DALE KEYROUSE MEMORIAL TOY DRIVE

Live music, great raffle prizes and complimentary buffet highlight this annual event

Every year the fine folks from Coach House Tavern get their friends from Scottsdale together to help memorialize their dear friend Dale Keyrouse. And each year, his legendary Christmas spirit of generosity (for which he was so revered) is renewed again, with successful contributions of toys for Scottsdale’s Vista del Camino program and generous cash donations for St. Vincent De Paul in memory of Mary Brower.

So get ready for a weekend of great food, great music, and great raffle prizes. It’s for a great cause.

Live music, giant TV screen and five dollar buffet highlight this popular outdoor event.

All bets are off, now. No inevitable, foregone conclusion that Green Bay will return to Indianapolis to defend their title. Or have to battle Denver and Tebow-mania.

Is San Francisco the team of destiny this year, or will Eli Manning guide the New York Giants to a repeat win against Tom Brady and the Patriots in the Super Bowl as in 2008?

Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We could see Baltimore battle New York. But we won’t, even if those two upstarts make it to the finale of this years’ NFL season.

Because we wouldn’t watch those two teams play in the Super Bowl if it was the last game in history, which it could be if those pesky Mayan calendar predictions pan out. Especially when the weather outside in Scottsdale figures to be perfect during Super Bowl weekend.

So let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Let’s live for the moment. The moment when there are still four professional NFL teams vying for the chance to tell us they’re going to Disneyland, as if we’re supposed to believe there is any spontaneity left in that crass, promotional ploy.

Meet up with your friends at the Coach House this weekend, or make new ones. You’ll be glad you did, unless you’re a Broncos fan; watching several groups of strangers inevitably dropping to one knee and Tebowing after each touchdown could ruin your day.
